So, we are already a few weeks into the new year. How are your New Year's resolutions holding up? If you are  llike most people, you are already asking..."What resolutions?" That is because most people throw in the towel on their resolutions within the first few weeks of the year. Each year people jump into action (or say they are going to jump into action) and then end up giving up. If you have already given up here are a few questions for you and a few things you can do to get back on track.

  • Are you truly committed to that resolution?
  • Was you resultion specific or general?
  • Did you select that resolution because it is something you truly want or something someone else wants (or society wants)?
  • Are you ready and fully prepared to take on that resolution? Do you have everything you need?

Feeling like you just can't get any exercise in because it is too cold to get outside? Does the thought of getting into a cold car to get to the gym just make you nuts?

Don't despair.... you CAN still get moving. In fact, if you are looking to warm up, moving that body can actually work to your benefit and get you warm :)  Who said exercise can't be fun? Here are some ideas for getting yourself and your family moving:

  • Turn on some music and just dance.
  • Remember Twister??  Get some stretching in and Twist your way to fun!
  • Start cleaning that basement (or junk closet)! --- yes, cleaning burns calories!
  • While you are on the phone, sitting around, do a few squats or a few leg lifts
  • Chase your kids around the house (I know, this is something you do without even trying LOL)
